I'm rick rustige, cofounder of the band. We went with mike gordons name because he was a student of bob kuban and an up and coming drummer. Actually half of us attended bishop du bourg and were students of kuban in 1970. We became the PHASE featuring the cashmeres. We played every venue 2 to 3 times a week. Fortunately we got rid of the cashmeres and expanded our repetoire. Things really took off for us. We were very similar to kuban and the spirit of st louis who were ftiends of ours. The band broke up a couple of years later. I havent seen any of the guys in over 40 years. I believe at one time mike gordon was drumming for ricky nelson.
